There’s been talk lately of impeaching the President. Surprisingly, it’s been coming from the center-right, or what I like to call reeds in the wind Republicans. An impeachment now, however would be a bad idea:

1. First of all, if the Democrats win the Senate and Congress in the fall elections, an impeachment would be looked at as vindictiveness for what the Republicans tried to do to Clinton. Not good Policy.
2. At this stage of the game, six years on, what would the point be? By the time an impeachment is completed, he’ll be out of offfice.
3. If Bush is put out of office, Cheney becomes President, and there isn’t a sane person alive who would want that.
4. There are better things to do with our time and money that to start impeachment hearings, like fix the healthcare system, fix the tax system where the middle class is taxed more than the upper class, combat global warming, etc.

The better thing to do? Wait until he gets out of office, and try tho whole lot of them for high crimes and misdemeanors, toss them all in jail, and toss away the key. Hook them up with roommattes like Zacharias Moussaui.
