Stumble It!Finally Gone

Filed under: Politics — Eric Ptak @ 3:36 pm

I didn’t vote for George W. Bush in 2000. In spite of my hopes and desires, he wound up winning in one of the biggest electoral farces in the history of the nation.

Then came 2004. I didn’t vote for him again. Not because he failed in protecting our nation and preventing 9/11 from happening. The bullshit line that “no one could have predicted it” is just that, bullshit. That’s why he’s supposedly President: he is supposed to know these things.

In 2004, I also saw what he was doing to the economy, and I knew what damage he would bring to the country. Tax breaks for the rich and pennies for the poor. The failed policies of trickle down economics, the transfer of unsecured debt to secured debt via the paying off of credit cards with home equity loans, and the looming bust of the real estate bubble. My predictions of gloom and doom have sadly come true, and we are truly fucked.

I predicted the fall of the stock market, saying the Dow would bottom out at 7500. I predicted massive bank failures. I predicted rising unemployment, decreased savings, more foreclosures and bankruptcies, and a genuine economic malaise afflicting the nation and the world. I predicted that our economic standing in the world would fall, and that India and China would rise.

Now, thankfully, there are less than 24 hours left to this Presidency. The end cannot come quickly enough. He’s a drooling idiot that has less brainpower than my toenail clippings. He certainly does not belong in that exclusive club known as Ex-Presidents of the USA. Unfortunately, through no fault of my own, he does.

You who voted for him can accept the blame for the mess we are in. Man up. Take responsibility for your idiocy. I certainly won’t take blame for the messes he created. I opposed him every step of the way. Even though people thought I was dumb, unpatriotic, rebellious, and even treasonous at times, my predictions have come to fruition. Now he is leaving office as an abject failure.

Hopefully, we all have the ability to fix the shit we have gotten ourselves into. I won’t take blame for it, but I will do what I can to clean it up. We all have to. As Obama said, “Yes WE can” – the operative word being we.

He cannot do it, as he is only one man. Congress has proven over and over that they cannot do it. Big business has proven that they are poor stewards of the economy, so we know that they cannot do it.

We – as in all Americans – have to do it, and we all have to contribute in our own way. Those of us who were labeled nay-sayers when Bush came to office cannot sit back and say, “Ha-ha! I told you so, dumb-fuck!” We have to dig in, and we all have to bear part of the burden. Those of you who supported him, who are now suffering as badly as everyone else, you also have to dig in and bear your part of the burden. We – all of us working together, citizens, workers, small business owners, shareholders, big business, local, state and federal governments and governmental agencies, we all have to do our part to get the economy going again.

I think that part of the reason Obama is so popular is because Bush is not. Barack is intelligent, George is not. Obama has a plan, Bush did not. Barack Hussein Obama is perceived to be the Hero, George Walker Bush is the Anti-hero.

It is what it is, and it ain’t what it ain’t. The important thing is that Bush is out.

I am a liberal. I share both the pain and the profits. Conservatives, on the other hand, inflict pain and hoard profits. They are by their nature greedy bastards, and that sort of thinking will not fix the economy, and in fact almost destroyed it.

It’s time to strap on the shit kickers, and start getting dirty. It’s going to get worse before it gets better, but if we all don’t start working on it now, we all better become double-jointed in the spine and kiss our collective asses goodbye.
