Stumble It!I finally gave blood

Filed under: Health — Eric Ptak @ 8:59 am

I finally gave blood on Saturday, and I’ve felt drained ever since. I had a shitty workout last night. I had no energy, and I felt sore – as if I had ran every day for a week straight. It was rough. And then, I didn’t have the energy to do much upper body exercises like I always do on Mondays.

I have to figure out a way to be able to give blood and recover more quickly. Maybe if I change my diet for the few days after I give blood, that will help. Perhaps some stretching, or some mild exercising over the weekend could help too. I’m considering asking Dr. Zorba for advice.

I don’t like feeling weak like that. Thankfully, it only lasts about a week before I’m back to normal.

  1. [...] I gave blood again today. At this rate, I’ll give 6 pints this year. That’s a cool goal to have, like a lady friend of mine told me. She said she couldn’t, and not because of medical reasons. It’s because she is afraid of needles. Isn’t it silly all the excuses people make up? There should never be any kind of blood shortage, but people for one reason or another choose not to. One guy I used to work with gave once, and when he didn’t sign up again for another donation, they started calling him, and he got pissed about it. He went off on them, and said that he would never donate again. I thought it was silly, but what can I say? I just go every 8 weeks or so, and just do it. And I know that I am helping people, so that’s cool. [...]
