Stumble It!Happy Thoughts

Filed under: Fun Stuff — Eric Ptak @ 8:07 am

I saw M____ again last night, which made it two nights in a row. I rarely get to see her, and to see her two nights in a row is really out of the ordinary. It’s a good thing.

She was reviewing some material for a paper she had to write for school, papers that others have published and she has to critique them. The subject matter had something to do with DNA and seratonin, but she didn’t go too much into detail. She was sort of self-conscious about it, and just said that I’d “probably find it boring”. I didn’t think so, but she didn’t go into it. It’s probably too arcane and detailed a subject to go into over a couple of beers, and anything she said probably would not have sunk in due to the effect alcohol has on me.

I noticed that it was a full moon last night, and I had an amazing revelation about the moon and what it does to people. It had to do with tidal forces, the fact that the body is made up of 72% water, and when the moon is full there is more fluid and fluid pressure in the brain causing synapses to fire differently in the brain than they normally do. The revelation had a historical aspect relating to primitive cultures and what they thought of this bright orb that periodically floated through the sky, and the emotions caused by this. The problem was, after a few beers, I couldn’t articulate those thoughts very well, and I don’t think I was able to convey the meaning that I wanted to.

She likes massages and light tickles on her forearms. She says it helps her think. It’s more or less like tracing my fingertips slowly up and down, barely touching skin, randomly lifting one or more fingers off almost as if I’m strumming a harp. The effect is similar to having a feather dancing on her arms, or a butterfly flitting to and fro, dancing from flower to flower. This light caressing would, after a few minutes, have goosebumps covering my entire body, but she says it calms her down. This is good, because as many former girlfriends will attest, I am a very tactile person, and like giving massages. Many have suggested that I take classes and work at a spa. I suppose I could, but then, I like being able to offer that gift to a certain, special person. I could spend hours just caressing, kneading the trapezius, the dorsal musculature, the deltoids, the platysma. I like it.

I also noticed that earlier today, someone from a computer lab where M___ goes to school was looking at my site this morning. I wonder if that was her, because there was no referring URL, it wasn’t emailed by someone to someone; someone specifically typed it in. They spent about 15 minutes, and looked at about 10 pages. If it was her, I wonder what she thinks of this project that has become not just a hobby, but a commitment.

So today will be a happy day. Of course, I have four days in a row off, and it would have been happy anyway. Seeing her last night put the icing on the cake.
