Armed Forces Week
Next week is Armed Forces Week. It’s a pretty big deal, actually, considering all the troops in Iraq and around the world. Having spent six years in the Marines when I was a kid, I have a lot of respect for what they are doing today. I do not agree with the people who sent them in harm’s way and the reasoning why they went there. Nevertheless, I do respect the troops and support them by offering wishes that they come home soon, and supporting those who share those same desires. WHat bettter way to support them than by saying “we want you home, here is the map and the timeline to get there”? An indefinite war with undefined objectives and no real timelines to show any kind of progress is not supporting them. Blindly following those who send our troops elsewhere just because they want to send troops elsewhere is not supporting them.
Getting them home to be with their family and friends is the best way to support them.
