My Job
I work for a major bank, currently in Mortgage Delinquency Servicing. It’s actually the collections department, but I prefer Delinquency Servicing because people think that in collections, I work for an outside agency, which I do not. Besides, it sounds more official.
There are 2 positions that just opened up in the Loss Mitigation Department, which I am applying for. I think that is a better fit for me. In collections, I just sit there all day and call people and let them call me and deal with people who may or may not want to talk to me. In Loss Mitigation, you are trying to work with the customer and the investor to resolve a situation without going to foreclosure. It’s a bit more involved, but I know I can do it.
