Stumble It!The Bastard Fairies

Filed under: Music — Eric Ptak @ 6:00 pm

Now, this is an interesting way to get your music out there, and beat the record companies. Put it on the internet. Let people copy it and pass it around. It saves you production costs. It’s in a form that’s easy for people to use, and easy to distribute.

I found out about it by watching “The Coolest 8 year old” video on Youtube.

This is a pretty funny video, because it rips on Bill O’Reilly, and religion in general. After all, most wars currently being fought, and most wars in history, were fought over religion. Human history is replete with examples of violence committed against other people(s) in the name of religion.

Bill took such an offense to the video, he got a FOXpert on his TV show to say that this poor child is a victim of child abuse. After all, any child who has that kind of attitude against religious doctrine and belief systems must be in an abusive household. Why does Bill think this? Because he is a moron, a buffoon, and a small-minded man, who is still stuck in a belief system created more than several centuries ago, and dominated by people who want to dominate the world.

Enough about him, though. I heard a lot about this video on The Stephanie Miller Show, and finally got a chance to watch it. At the end, there is a URL flashed for The Bastard Fairies, and a clip from, I assume, one of their songs. It sounded good, so I went to the site to see what it was about, and that’s when I saw their marketing scheme. There are several links to myspace accounts. I went to the one for the Bastard Fairies, and saw a lot of posts about how good the music is, etc. etc. No info on touring, though, unless it’s in the blog section. They are an LA band, apparently.

So I downloaded the zip file, and listened to it. It kind of reminds me of Belly and Tanya Donelly. Not terrible music, and easy to listen to. I like it.
