Stumble It!Watching the Bills Game

I’m watching the Bills’ game, cooking some bacon.

I’m going to have BLT’s and club sandwiches for lunch this week. Every day, I have a sandwich before I start work. Usually on multi-grain bread, with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and onion. Mustard and mayo. Not toasted, because it is too much of a pain to do. I used to get salami, bologna, and other processed meats, but since I started seeing “mechanically separated” in the ingredients, I’ve been sticking to ham, turkey, roast beef and bacon. Occasionally tuna ir salmon.

I really like mixing crabmeat with tuna salad. I add mayo, a little mustard, some pickle, celery, shredded carrot, and a pinch of dill. It is very tasty. I used to make tuna salad with cucumber, broccoli, celery, carrot, onion, and garlic. It was about 50% vegetable matter. I don’t really do that anymore, because it’s just too much work.

Dinners during the week are usually a salad, a meat and a starch/grain. In my salads, I like to use spring mix, celery, green pepper, carrot, cucumber, broccoli, and maybe some green or black olives. I like to use a variety of dressings: French, bleu cheese, parmesan peppercorn, thousand island, poppyseed, ranch, italian, caesar, balsamic vinaigrette, and so on. Once in a while, I make a lime-pepper dressing that is really good.

Meats are usually a boneless pork chop, chicken, steak, sausage or some sort of fish. I’ll bread them and bake them, sometimes. I save the ends of loaves of bread, pulverize them in the blender, and mix it with spices for a home made shake-and-bake. Steak, pork and chicken, I might blacken, too. Or I’ll do a stir-fry. Fish is typically cooked with a pat of butter, lemon juice and pepper. Occasionally, I’ll make little meat loaves and gravy.

Starch/grain ususally winds up being rice (basmati, white or brown), some sort of pasta, or potato. Rice I like cooking in a pressure cooker, because it cooks it perfectly every time. I might add curry powder, Goya Sazon, home-made salsa, or meat broth. Pasta could be almost any variety, and depends on what my mood is. I typically keep about ten different types of pasta in my cupboards. Potatoes tend to be whatever I feel like making, and what I have in my cupboards.

Earlier, I made marinara which I will have twice this week, and froze three portions for later use. I cooked off 2 italian sausages to have with the marinara, 2 steaks, and a chicken thigh. I cooked off some angel hair pasta, spanish rice, and some mashed potatoes. This is dinner for the week.

Yum yum yum.

And the Bills lost. It was a good game, but a couple of bad mistakes in th efourth quarter lost it for them. I don’t know what’s wrong with them this year. They have the talent, they seem to have the coaching, but they make some really stupid fucking mistakes.
