Random Recordings of Mental Meanderings

It’s funny how a few weeks can change your life.

A month ago, I was in a job I didn’t care for anymore. I was drinking, if not every night after work, then most nights, basically out of boredom and stress from the job. I didn’t drink on weekends, simply because I didn’t need to. I worked a later shift, and the only social life I had was going to the bar.

Now, I work a regular nine to five. I can go out at night and do things. I can come home, and do whatever I need to and still make it to bed at a reasonable time. I’m dating a woman that I find to be an incredible blessing and who finds me to be an incredible blessing.

Life is looking better, for once. Don’t get me wrong, because I am a glass-half-full kind of guy. Sometimes it is hard, but I always try to put on a happy face, and try to not let things get me down. But for the last several years, it’s been kind of depressing, and life has not turned out to be what I wanted or anticipated. It was getting more and more difficult to get myself into a good mood.

It’s amazing what a new job and a new relationship can do for a man’s spirit.
