What a game . . .
It didn’t matter that the Flyers pulled the starting goalie; we scored enough on each to win. It didn’t matter that the Flyers tried playing a rough game, we out-played them. It was a colossal loss for the Flyers.
It’s all about New NHL vs. Old NHL. The new game is faster, higher scoring, and a hell of a lot more fun to watch. It’s like you went to watch hockey and a lacrosse game broke out. While I do miss some of the fighting and the hard hitting, that game is history. Now, it’s about skating and scoring. No more 1-0 overtime wins.
The Sabres seem to epitomize what the NHL wants to do. Fast, high scoring, good defense, good goaltending. Excitement.
Now we get to go to Philly, where we wont twice this year. If we win the first game, it’ll be a sweep. I think it’s possible, and would be great. However, I’d like to see the Sabres win at home. But you gotta sweep when you gotta sweep.
