Stumble It!The Sabres Lost

Filed under: Sports — Eric Ptak @ 12:39 pm

I had a feeling all day yesterday that we were going to lose. All day on the radio talk shows, they jocks were saying that it wasn’t important if we won or lost. Excuse me for asking, but

WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN, IT DOESN’T MATTER???

I’m sorry, but this WAS an important game: it was for FIRST PLACE IN THE DIVISION. We would have been one point out of first place in the conference with a game in hand on that team. How can you say that it doesn’t matter? The Sabres had a choice: win and be in the division lead by a point, or lose and be down by three points. Given that choice, I’d want to be ahead by a point, thank you.

The Sabres came out flat and made alot of errors. Too many penalties, sloppy passing, too many turnovers, not enough scoring, sloppy plays, poor skating. The Ottowa goalie is weak, and we should have scored 8 goals on him, IF WE ONLY TOOK MORE SHOTS. And then the announcers kept saying how Ottowa is the class of the league. I’m sorry, but didn’t they just lose to BOSTON, a team we own this year? By the time the Sabres started playing their game, it was way too late in the third period to do anything. IF they started playing that way in the first period, by the third period, the Sens would have been so tired that we would have slaughtered them. They were having problems in the third, and we pretty much controlled the puck and did what we wanted to. Why wait until the end of the game to turn the engine on? Start strong, finish stronger.

We should have killed Ottowa. Instead, we let them beat us.

It’s no big deal if we lose. That’s what’s wrong with this town: too many people accept failure.

It’s that second best mindset that’s been killing Buffalo for the last 75 years, and until we get over that, and prove to the world that this is THE GREATEST CITY with THE GREATEST SPORTS TEAMS, we will never have people want to come back who have moved away, have new people move here, etc.

We may as well be the armpit of the East.
