Afinagenov’s Assist
That goal last night in overtime by Briere was a thing of beauty. Afinagenov was skating from behind the net, looking at Connelly at the blue line. Everyone was looking for him to pass that way. Briere snuck up on the side and was the recipient of a no-look pass. By the time the Senator’s goalie (and the rest of the team, for that matter) knew what was going on, the goal buzzer was going off.
This was a nice win, and hopefully, it’s the start of a nice run that will end with The Cup in Buffalo.
