Like a Rolling Stone

Posted By Eric Ptak On August 17, 2006 @ 8:06 am In Music | No Comments

Lately, I’ve been listening to a lot of music that I grew up with. The Beatles’ Wite Album, Hey Jude, Magical Mystery Tour, Abbey Road, Yellow Submarine, and Rubber Soul. The Moody Blues’ In Search of the Lost Chord, A Question of Balance, and Days of Future Past. Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells. Yes’ Fragile, and The Yes Album.

And then, there’s Bob Dylan’s Like a Rolling Stone. Now here’s a classic song, with organ, guitars and harmonica. It’s a classic “You rich bitch, now you’re not rich anymore, and now you’re lower than the people you used to look down on. YOu’ve lost everything, and I can’t think of a better thing to happen to you. How do you like that?” What a song. THe other day, I must have listened to it five times in a row after coming home from work, just reminiscing about high school, and thinking about where I thought I’d be at this time in my life.

I’m not where I wanted to be, that’s for sure. But I’m going somewhere. And eventually, I’ll get there.
