Firefox

I downloaded Firefox this weekend to see how it works as a browser. It doesn’t freeze up as much as Netscape did when having multiple tabs open, and as much as I use tabbed browsing, that’s important. I wonder what it is that Microsoft has against tabbed anything, anyway. Every program they have opens a new window for each document. Before long, you can have ten or more windows open. With tabbing, I can have 3 windows open, but have 8-10 documents. It is so very convenient.

So I was using it extensively this weekend, seeing what it can do. It’s a little faster starting up, and like I said earlier, it doesn’t freeze when having too many tabs. However, when I shut it down last night, it froze Winblows completely. No blue screen of death, no safe mode tick, nothing . Just frozen, with no responding to my mouse or keyboard. OF course, I had it running for over 6 hours while I was working, but still, it shouldn’t freeze my entire system.

That I didn’t like.
