Is this a team of destiny? I think they are. They seem to have their heads on their shoulders, and seemed to be aiming and poised to win the Cup. They had a so-so first period, but they came back stron in the second, and completed the game in the third. The only point that scared me was when the Sabres let Carolina score that short-handed goal. It seemed like they didn’t care to win, or let their guard down because they thought that they were assured the win. As it was shown, not against Carolina is anything assured. They have to play the entire game as if it were tied at zero, and they were trying to score thier first goal to win it after two overtimes. Who cares if the Sabres are actually winning by 3, 6 or 8 points? They have to make sure they win, and a two goal lead is not even close to being enough.

But they did win, and that’s a good thing. Seven more wins, and they accomplish what they set out to do at the beginning of the season: prove everyone wrong and win the Stanley Cup..
