Stumble It!Busy Nite

It was a busy night, and I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to. Oh, well. I did get clothes pressed for work, made some shrimp in a garlic-basil sauce to go over some brown rice, beef and beans for burritos, with Spanish rice to have along with it, and some ravioli to finish off some tomato cream sauce that I made last week. It will be a good week of eating.

I like cooking, I have to admit. Especially my own food. But sometimes, I look for other things, just to make it an easy day. Yesterday, while shopping, I had a hankering for pizza. I was browsing through the frozen aisle, and I saw DiGiorno’s. Having never tried it, I figured, “Why not?”

I will never make that mistake again. That shit was nasty. First of all, the crust was basically frozen ready to cook biscuit dough, and not even real pizza dough. the sauce was too acid, and there weren’t a lot of toppings. It was extremely disappointing. And then, I got acid indigestion so bad that no amount of Rolaid’s would take care of it. I even tried drinking baking soda mixed in a glass of water, to no avail. The only recourse I had was going into the bathroom and sticking my finger down my throat. You know it’s bad when you eat something and in order to make yourself feel good, you have to induce vomiting. As I said, I will never make that mistake again.

Earlier today, I tried listening to the Bush speech while doing work on-line. It’s funny, this city he mentioned, Tal Afar, is located 30 miles west of Mosul in the Kurdish northern part of the country. It is primarily occupied by Turk-men and Kurds. Before the war, it was in the Kurdish autonomous region, and if it weren’t for the war, the insurgents that he was saying were driven from that town would never have gone there in the first place. I tell you, these people who are running this country must really really really really think that the American people are stupid. Either that, or GW is himself really really really really stupid.

Which is why I like sites like Bush Flash. This guy makes some pretty funny videos and has what I consider a good take on the moron in the Oval Office. Then there’s The Rational Radical, a site that I haven’t perused yet, but I will in the future.

Finally, the Sabres didn’t show up tonight. Lindy Ruff had to go to an appointment for his sick daughter, and couldn”t make it to Atlanta for the game. So the team took the night off. Hell, they couldn’t have beat Williamsville East the way they played tonight. And I was so up on them a week ago. I can’t put my finger on it, but something’s gotten into their heads and they have to get it out. By Wednesday, before they play Carolina. And then hopefully, they will be able to beat Ottowa on Friday and Boston on Saturday. Carolina first. Get whatever it is out of their system tonight, and gat back on the stick Wednesday. The last thing we need at this time in the season is a losing streak like they had in October. THat would be bad. Very very bad.
