Today’s my birthday. It’s like my own Happy New Year.

I always take a week off around my birthday just because. I catch up on projects that I haven’t finished or gotten around to. I spend time reflecting on what’s gone on in the last year, and look to the next year. I do the resolutions thing, even.

Today, I shaved my beard into a goatee, and got my hair cut. I’m going to donate my hair to Locks of Love. It was almost halfway down my back, and getting to be too much to take care of. I was getting sick of all the hair being pulled out when I washed it, brushed it, etc. So I got rid of it.

Another thing I’m going to do is start working out again. I’m tired of being out of shape. I tend to work out off and on, but now I want to get back to that classic V-shape, rather then the pear that I’ve been turning into. Instead of “off and on” I’m going to be working out every day before I go to work.

I am also going to dry out for a while. I’m tired of drinking, tired of the hangovers. Last night, I went out with the boys, had about 10 shots of to-kill-ya, and many beers. I don’t know how many, but it was about a dozen pints or so. Way too much alcohol for one person at a single sitting.

Here’s to this year being better than last year.
